The large Hadron Colander; Belgium. Or Switzerland.
The Large Hadron Colander is an 18Km metal dome built over some village in Belgium (A small province in The Netherlands), with holes scientifically drilled into it to filter out subatomic particles (subatomic particles list). These particles need to be filtered-out because otherwise they would clog-up all the black-holes which act like cosmic bin-men, and the universe would eventually become littered with Bozons, Quarks, Liptons, Messy-ons, and Hadrians. A bit like all the Burger King wrappers, Starbucks cups, newspapers and mattresses that instantly appear underneath the hedges around car-parks at motorway service stations.
